Product Sourcing:

When it comes to sourcing a product for review, I will usually either  purchase and item personally or reach out to a supplier requesting a sample for review.  Many suppliers are supportive if they are confident in their product, appreciating the value of greater exposure.

I am sometimes sent a product by a supplier which I may include if the product fits planned content and I believe will be of interest to you, my audience. The product needs to be worthy of a review and I always make it clear to the supplier that they cannot influence or be involved in the content in any way. It is not in my interest to review inferior or poor quality products and therefore as you might expect many product offers are politely declined.

Any sponsored videos (paid for reviews) are clearly stated as such so there can be no misunderstanding.

Sometimes a supplier will provide a link to the product or the supplier which I am happy to include in the description.  Sometimes I will be provided with an affiliate link so I can earn a commission on sales and this helps to support channel costs but never at the expense of an honest review. There is no cost to you and in some cases discounts can be obtained via the link or via an included code.

If a product I have reviewed is available from Amazon I will often include an Amazon link in the description.  As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. If you purchase a product or service with the links that I provide I may receive a small commission. There is no additional charge to you.

Replying to Comments:

I really appreciate the feedback in the comments – I find it a source of knowledge and inspiration – so thank you to all of you who take the time to contribute. This is not just for me as the creator, it is a valuable source of information for all readers of the comments. I have recently found that if I continue to respond to all the comments as the number of videos builds, it takes significant time away from being able to produce new content which would be very counter productive! So my aim is to read everything I can and reply when I can, after each video goes live for the first few hours at least, and beyond that when possible. I’ll see how that works out 😊

Please consider subscribing and being notified to keep up to date with new video releases.

Thank you for supporting the channel.

  1. For some reason Jon, YouTube stopped recommending your vids this year so I have to manually check for new ones. But I love your content – keep it up! Edit: would love to see a (tongue in cheek) SHTF kit; CB radio, Meshtastic, fire starter, camping gear etc

  2. I’ve used Minix chargers for several years, and I’ve never had any issues with them – I now treat them up with Anker and uGreen as a decently reliable brand.

  3. great vids! new sub here, lol at the oral b charging base, i have the same problem! cheers from the Philippines!

  4. I’ve had 2 of the mini chargers and they’ve both failed. I don’t think the can handle the 100W for very long.

  5. My phone lets me choose whether I want to do just charging or both (charging + data) – when I connect to a USB port

  6. Fantastic video Jon, some really compelling stuff here. Then charger, toothbrush, cables and Bluetooth connector are now all on my list. I can feel my wallet getting lighter already! 😂… thanks

  7. I know you guys can’t carry but for folks in USA those swimming trunks are a prime way to conceal carry!!😅✊️🔥✌️💚

  8. Have been using the Minix charger for a good while now, and it’s brilliant. It’s been really reliable, and does seem to be the smallest charger available with that functionality they i can find.

  9. Good luck with that charger. I had one, never fully trusted it and today threw it away. Ran very hot indeed and smelt of hot electronics and not in a good way. I’m sticking with Anker.

  10. With regard to the charger, did you look at the UGREEN 65W USB C Charger GaN Charger Fast Charger Plug Travel Adapter. This has got removable plugs (3 in the box) for Europe, America, and the Uk.

  11. A quick clarification regarding the Philips One toothbrush: while it does get advertised as a sonic toothbrush, it is FAR from it. I own both a Phillips Sonicare and a Suri, and the Phillips One in comparison is an overpriced regular toothbrush with a vibrating handle. Suri is great, and I got myself one for travel so as to reduce the bulk of the Sonicare, but it’s still not as powerful as the latter, though you will still get a great electric toothbrush experience while on the go. Having said that, the Phillips One is a no go. You’re better off buying a cheaper manual toothbrush, as the vibrations of the One are as useless.

  12. On my latest flight, I could easily connect my Bluetooth headphones to the seat back onboard entertainment system which was nice as the screen was much bigger than my phone.

  13. I’m surprised you’ve not got Ugreens aux bluetooth dongle. I got mine for £15 on sale on amazon and it might not have the battery life of the one in the video but it’s a mega saving and a great brand as you know

  14. Bluetooth ear phones of any kind = asking for brain tumor and other health probs. Wireless in general is slowly killing us.

  15. I have a cable that has a usb c/a on one end and a usb c/ligthning/micro on the other. One cable to cover all devices, I usually carry a couple with me.

  16. Im usualy with Fenix, but had issues with the last one i bought. So im going going, back back, to Nitecore 🕺

  17. I have been traveling with the Airfly Pro for several months and LOVE it. (The Pro version also works only with Airpod Pros). I can attest to the 16 hour battery life and is multi -ersatile, to include plugging into laptop, or tablet as an easier solution to dealing with sometimes difficult bluetooth connections, its a must have for travelers as it can also be plugged inti anything with a 3.5mm headphone jack or AUX port.

  18. You asked for it, you got it. Roaring Fire Picofire Pro Pocket Organizer Pouch. Now just a matter of time before you review it. Just received mine, and kicks my ‘maxpedition’ in it’s pouch!!!

  19. Jon, thanks a lot for such an informative video. As always, a few great finds for me to check out. I purchased some stuff you recommended before and can’t thank you enough ❤

  20. Great video!! I travel to Europe every year from the US and I will definitely use some of your recommendations😊

  21. Thank you for demoing all this cool gear! I am so glad that irontide dropped shorts that are more stylish in my opinion!!

  22. Hi, Jon. Airfly gadget looks great for frequent flyers (if there’s no lag if you’re watching a movie) but how are you getting on with your search for new earbuds? I recall from your Thai video that you mentioned your AirPod Pro earbuds weren’t a great fit so you were looking for an alternative – would be good to learn how that search is coming along

  23. Waterproof zippers are virtually useless! If the stitching is not tape seamed the item is barely water resistant. I find this often very misleading in the EDC world. Besides the fabric/material used, the stitching is the most important in making the item water-resistant or waterproof.
Waterproof zippers help, but so useless and harder to open.

  24. I love my Suri toothbrush so much! I didn’t want to leave it behind on my last trip so I got a plastic snap on cover for the brush head and stuck it in my kit just like that. It did go on once in my bag but the rest of the trip it was fine.

  25. Nice. Magtame cables look good, but I’m kind of enjoying not replacing Anker cables. I like the smaller 65w charge, though. I think I’ll check out a couple more reviews before using a new brand, but i would like to upgrade the old samsung charger that CURRENTly 😊 resides in my tech pouch

  26. I used the UGREEN 65W 2xUSB C/1 x USB A when I traveled recently. It wasn’t as thin (maybe light) as the one you’ve shown but the UK pins folded back in on the charger which I found handy. Pretty good charger overall.

  27. My experience with the Minix charger was pretty terrible, it let the smoke out and tripped a breaker. Not great on a trip.
